Radio On - Christopher Petit (1979). An avant-garde post-punk road movie. Cars, radio, motorway and empty landscapes between England and nowhere. Brief encounters, silence and emotional suspension. A soundtrack that feels almost like another character. Watch the trailer here.
Wings of Desire - Wim Wenders (1987). Berlin from above, then from the ground. Angels, lovers, libraries & quiet extravagance. Ordinary human life made monumental. A film about watching life from a distance and the desire to finally step inside it.
Victoria - Sebastian Schipper (2015). One night. One city. One very long mistake. A chance encounter becomes momentum, then consequence. Breathless, intimate and completely alive. Reminiscent of the restless Run Lola Run - Tom Tykwer (1999).

Possession — Andrzej Żuławski (1981) & L'Amour Braque (1985). One about madness, love, paranoia and desire turning feral; the other about crime, obsession and excess.Blood and Black Lace - Mario Bava (1964). A luxurious fashion house. A masked killer in black gloves. Vivid colors, interiors and elaborate set pieces turn violence into something almost impossibly beautiful.

Cosey Mueller - Embodiment of Denial (2026). Berlin after midnight. Minimal electronics, punk instinct and a sense of controlled collapse. And if you find a kindred spirit, dig deeper into the lesser-known Berliner Doom.Brutalismus 3000 - Harmony (2026). A collision of hard dance, gabber & rave culture. Abrasive, playful, excessive and completely contemporary.
Boy Harsher - Get Mean (2026). Dangerously cold, physical & intimate. Dark repetition and sounds that evoke desire, loss and survival. If you're in Montreal, make sure to see them later this month.
Mantarochen - Wellness Ward (2026). A sublime nostalgia-infused post-punk soundtrack for late-night summer bike rides. Warm enough for August. Haunting enough for October.

Otherworldly Matter.
Alicia Adamerovich. Strange landscapes, organic forms and figures that seem to belong to another ecosystem. A futuristic natural world somewhere between geology, memory and hallucination. And if it resonates, check out Montreal-based painter Arta Ajeti's ghostly drawings.Wicked Games.
Fashion at its most cinematic. Gucci Primavera, And We Shall Dance Again — with a knowing nod to The Knife’s unforgettable Pass This On, and Maison Margiela’s deliciously giallo-inspired ANONYMITY.Dilara Fındıkoğlu. Gothic romance, punk attitude, corsetry and occult symbolism. Fashion pushed into something dark and theatrical.
Realm Objects. Sculptural furniture that feels like Dilara dreamed it; a bit baroque, a bit grotesque, definitely sensual and wonderfully excessive.

Angela Carter - The Bloody Chamber (1979). Gothic tales rewritten as something darker, sexier and much more dangerous. Desire turns sinister, innocence becomes unstable, and transformation is rarely painless.
Five Deaths for Seven Songbirds - John Everson (2022). The closest to a modern book has ever gotten to a pure 1970s Dario Argento film (specifically Suspiria or The Bird with the Crystal Plumage). An elite piano conservatory in Belgium. A killer in black leather gloves. Highly stylized crimes built around musical motifs.
Giallo Fantastique - Ross E. Lockhart (2015). The ultimate benchmark anthology for the subgenre. Retro 1970s surrealism meets modern cyber-giallo, with stories built around lavish atmosphere, sensory overload and psychological dread rather than rigid logic.
